Something different is staying in this Boat Shed converted into a lovely fresh and clean double storied with a mezzanine floor accommodation right in the heart of Wellington’s Bay. This modern well equipped accommodation just steps from beautiful Whangaumu Bay. Downstairs is open plan with a tilt away queen sized bed and upstairs consists of x 1 queen and x1 set of single bunks. The bathroom is also upstairs. The kitchen has a microwave and double electric hobs. There is also a bbq. The owners live next door in the main house whom will be your hosts Trevor and MJ making you feel welcome.

Whangaumu Bay is a popular and safe swimming white sand beach. You can launch your boat and kayaks directly into the water – there are plenty of fishing spots nearby and a gas BBQ to cook up your catch!
Tutukaka Marina is a short scenic drive away – home base for a variety of fishing and dive charter boats, cafes, restaurant and bar, and shops. Enjoy a trip to the Poor Knights Scenic Reserve, globally recognised for its world class diving and snorkelling. Over the hill to Ngunguru where there is a local cafe, takeaways (world famous on the coast), well stocked superette and hairdresser, as well as a golf course, tennis courts, petanque and bowls. Ngunguru estuary offers numerous places to explore by boat or kayak, including Ngunguru Sandspit. And there’s always pipi picking at low tide. Nearby Matapouri Bay, Whale Bay and Sandy Bay are some of the best beaches in Northland, offering a playground for surfers and beachcombers alike. Walk around the rocks to Ngunguru at low tide – an easy twenty minute stroll along the edge of the estuary (and a coffee at Salt Air Cafe!).
