This 4 Bedroom home occupies a commanding coastal location in the centre of the Golden Mile, midway between Tutukaka and Matapouri. It is the closest house to the Poor Knights Islands, which sit dead centre, straight out in front, with fantastic views from Cape Brett to Great Barrier. It has no neighbours for a kilometre in any direction, access to 4 private beaches, and very good fishing and diving straight off the rocks only a short walk down from the house, or off the magnificent headland “Taurawhata”. 

The house has four double bedrooms (3 Queen, 2 singles), two bathrooms, 2 lounges, an open plan kitchen, dining table for 8, two indoor fireplaces, an outdoor fire and a pizza oven with a 70 m2 deck from which to enjoy the view. Power is provided by a fully functioning solar power system, there is gas hot water and a good water supply. There is ample parking.

The house sits in a pohutukawa forest and at the end of a 2 km driveway on “Tawapou”, a well known 300 acre coastal property (with famous nursery of the same name), 2.2 km from Tutukaka towards Matapouri. The property is an eco sanctuary with a rare mainland colony of Grey Faced Petrel, nesting Penguin and Kiwi. Tui and Kereru fly around the house. Extensive pest control means that native skinks, gecko and insects abound. Guests are free to enjoy the property secure in the knowledge that they are helping to pay for the work being done.
