Shelly Cottage is the perfect place for you to come and take advantage of this wonderful contrast. You can access Russell by taking the car ferry from Opua or by following the scenic route via Old Russell Road just north of Whangarei. There is also a passenger ferry that runs between Paihia and Russell hourly between 7am and 10pm over the busy season and between 7am and 7pm during the quieter months. Fill your days with the marvelous local offerings: ride a fast boat to the Hole in the Rock, relax on an all day scenic cruise, sit back and enjoy a day of yachting around the Bay, swim with the dolphins, join a fishing trip – either for snapper or marlin, dive the Rainbow Warrior, visit Waitangi – the Birthplace of our Nation, go a bus trip up to New Zealand’s most northern point of Cape Reinga, or take a scenic flight over the Bay, the options are almost endless!! Ideally situated, you will enjoy magnificent sea views over Matauwhi Bay from this comfortable dwelling. Furthermore, restaurants, cafes, tourist shops, swimming beaches, clubs and hotels are all within easy reach – just take a short stroll down the road. Guests of Shelly Cottage are also more than welcome to explore the bay using the dinghy available. Comfortably sleeping six, Shelly Cottage has three bedrooms and a bunk house. This fully furnished house also features open plan living with a joint kitchen/lounge area. The lounge comes complete with TV, video player and DVD. With full kitchen facilities cooking dinner is easy or even better – soak up the last of the evening sun and enjoy a barbeque on the deck over looking the water!
