Everything is quaint and cute, from the Munchkin bathroom to the Brambly Hedge bunk beds complete with little curtains and handmade quilts. Come in summer and enjoy roses dripping from the veranda, hot lazy days and the sound of cicadas wafting up from the bush. Or enjoy the antique woodstove in winter, watch the clouds drift up from the valley and the hawks ride the thermal waves outside the bedroom window. At A Patch of Heaven we pay attention to detail with fresh flowers from the garden and homemade olive oil soap suitable for the most sensitive skins. We don’t forget children, there is a child sized Wendy house in a small fenced playground, four friendly chickens and the neighbours lamas that will eat from little hands. A Patch of Heaven has thirty acres of private bush that backs onto a thousand acre reserve for the active to explore. Or take a stunning scenic drive to the Whangarei Heads, just 20 minutes down the road, where there is an abundance of beaches, coastal walks including a popular trek up the majestic Mount Manaia. Groceries, petrol, L.P.G. and dive fills are all available at the nearby Parua Bay shops just 10 minutes away. You will also find a safe swimming beach, wharf, café, tavern and restaurant just 10 minutes in the other direction. If it is a game of golf or tennis you would prefer there is the Pines Golf Club just 15 minutes away and the Tamaterau Tennis Courts nearby.
